See Why the Amish People Used The Black Healing Salve to Treat Almost Any Skin Problem

The Amish people used the black healing slave as a natural remedy for centuries. Nowadays, the mentioned ointment is very popular, not only for its use to pull out toxins from the body, but also for its use to pull out foreign objects that may stick into the skin.

The black healing slave is actually a mixture of natural remedies, like wax, tar/activated charcoal and essential oils. One of its most important and main ingredients is the activated charcoal.

Below you will have the opportunity to read more about it. This ointment helps the skin to heal faster and is quite effective for minor skin issues.

For What Kind of Skin Problems You Can Use This Ointment?

Burns or rashes and all kind of minor skin issues can be treated with this ointment. It can remove foreign objects from the skin like metal or wooden splinter. In the Amish community, they call it the “healing smear ”or the “Hilla schemer.”

Its effectiveness depends on the recipe you choose and the ingredients that you shall use. It can be one of the best ways to remove skin tags.

We recommend this ointment as treatment of spider/insect bites and cystic acne. However, you can also use it for the removal of glass shards and thorns as well. In addition, you can use it to heal boils because it can draw the discharge to the surface and helps the skin healing.

Moreover, you can use this natural remedy for ingrown toenails and if you come in touch with oak or poison ivy.

Skin Cancer – Black Healing Salve and Black Salve Is Not the Same

Skin cancer is a serious condition, and it cannot be treated with this natural remedy- the black healing salve. Use the black healing salve only for minor skin issues. Although you might find on the Internet that you can use the Black salve to treat skin cancer, you should know that these two remedies are not the same.

The black salve is not yet proven as effective and is a controversial solution. The name is for the escharotics i.e. a number of natural corrosive agents.

The main ingredient is the bloodroot, a natural remedy recommended for the treatment of squamous skin cell carcinoma and basal. But take in mind that scientific evidence does not support that.

Make sure not to confuse the one thing with the other. In case you want to get rid of acne, do a research how to do it using black healing salve.

Ingredients of Black Healing Salve

If you want to prepare it at home, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 10 drops of calendula oil – Oil that is skin moisturizing, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and stimulates faster healing of skin
  • Half a cup of castor oil –reduces acne, anti-inflammatory, and skin moisturizing
  • 3 tsp. of activated charcoal  – decreases stinging sensation in case of insect bites or poison ivy, pulls out  foreign  bodies  and toxins from the level of the skin
  • 2 tsp. of beeswax  –acts as binding agent, improves the overall texture
  • Half a cup of coconut oil – anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, stimulates faster healing of the skin, skin moisturizing and also antibacterial
  • 3 tsp of bentonite clay  – gives the product its non-greasy consistency, similar benefits to activated charcoal

Instructions:
In a big bowl mix the essential oils along with the bentonite clay and the activated charcoal. With a double boiler, melt the beeswax and after that add the calendula oil.

If you do not have a double boiler, as an alternative you can put a glass bowl over a pot filled with hot water. This should give you the same effect.

After you melt the wax mix it with the other ingredients and make sure to put the mixture in a glass jar, close it good (airtight) and allow it to cool down. Easy right?

Note:  In order the ingredients to have the same efficiency, make sure to put the mixture in an air-tight glass jar. Keep it in a dark place and away from direct sunlight. In this way the salve will alst for several weeks.

The Ingredients Are Different

The black healing salve contains only natural ingredients, like activated charcoal, essential oils, and beeswax. It is best to use for minor skin issues.

The black salve that is recommended for skin cancer has a stronger formula, different ingredients, and highly-erosive properties. Most common ingredients are powdered bloodroot and chloride zinc. You can use the difference in ingredients to tell which is which.

Conclusion

Black healing salve has an origin from the Amish community and was a popular remedy within the Amish people, but nowadays is popular all over the world.

We recommend it for acne problems, minor skin issues, pulling out foreign bodies and toxins.

Do not confuse it with Black Salve, that is actually a strong, controversial skin cancer treatment and contains bloodroot and zinc.
